Retraining UK
If you think it's time to look for retraining, UK opportunities fall into certain specific categories. But first, let's consider the reasons why you desire to change.
You could be bored, frustrated, want a challenge or to get away from stress. It could be the way you're treated in your current job - under-valued, being taken advantage of, or persecuted. Or the Industry you're in is slowing down, or offers little opportunity. Maybe you have to work anti-social hours, or don't earn enough money for your needs. It could be you just don't like it, or need a change, or deep down you know you haven't found what you want to do yet.
So what are you going to do about it?
Well first of all congratulations - the fact that you're reading this means you've started to look. Over the years the team at LearningLolly have helped thousands of people retrain into new careers.
Who knows - we might be able to help you with your change. At the very least we should be able to get you thinking about how to go about the process.
Retraining - UK Opportunities
So let's start with the premise "I'm interested in retraining in the UK" - This begs the question: 'retrain to become what?' Here are some questions to be thinking about:
Once retrained, do you want to earn more money?
Do you want this retrained skill to last you for the rest of your working life?
Once trained do you want your skill to enable you to get employment?
Do you want a skill that means you can live anywhere in the UK?
We've chosen these questions as we know these are common requirements for the majority of people we speak to.
But it's amazing how many people ignore these needs when they're considering a new job. Did you know there are around four times the number of people qualified as HIPS assessors as there are jobs for that role in the UK?
From our list of questions, let's assume we're looking for an industry that pays above the average, and offers workers employment up to 65-70 years of age. We also need a growing industry with more jobs available than people to fill them. Finally, your new skill should be in demand all over the country.
By understanding your needs and who you are, we can start to hone in on that ideal environment for you to work in.
But you'll still need someone who has the experience to explain what the job is really like. Most of us have little understanding what our neighbours do to earn money.
Here at Learning Lolly, we're focused on an industry that has a huge variety of jobs and is one of the only growing industries in the UK: Information technology.
We can supply the retraining, UK wide to help you. To find out more, click for an information pack or...

Frankly Speaking... thoughts for the day!
Why Not You... Why Not Now?
"There's someone in my head but it's not me" - the immortal lines by Roger Waters have mesmerised Pink Floyd fans for more than three decades. 'The Dark Side of the Moon' lyrics, though clearly about mental illness and anxiety, prompt a much wider discussion that affects so many of us today.
We all have dreams and ambitions - interests we'd like to pursue, and goals we'd like to achieve. But alongside all the positive ideas about what we're going to do with our lives, a little nagging voice inside can hold us back. However modest or lofty our plans, there always seems to be an intangible force playing devil's advocate with our mind. The young girl who longs to be a web designer; the factory worker who knows he can do more; the soldier who has more technical ability than his commanding officer. What holds these people back is someone in their head telling them they're not worthy. The reality though, is that if they could just break through the lies they've bought into, then anything can be possible.
Where do these mind monsters come from? The answer is: from everywhere we go, and everybody we spend time with. We live in a world where opinions are tossed around freely, disguised as solid facts. Society uses self-image as a management tool to keep us in our place, and we willingly co-operate by being no better than we should be!
As Winston Churchill observed, "Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened."
Educating ourselves correctly, and then applying that knowledge is vital. We desperately need more capable men and women from all walks of life to believe in themselves and be part of the 21st century age of information. Other people's opinions should not determine where we end up in life. The opportunities are there to re-train and start living again, whatever the age of the student. If programming is your passion, don't fall at the first hurdle because someone else programmed doubt into your mind. That someone in your head needs to be you.
